In Book IV – Aristotle outlines 9 values he believes leads to a good life. Here are the questions for discussion/response this week:
What is the difference between a value and a virtue? How would you explain the difference to your friends or family? Give one example of each and share how it falls into the category of a value or a virtue (your value example should be different than the value you discuss in question 2.).
Identify one of the values Aristotle discusses in Book IV, and answer the following questions:
What is the value? Define it in your own words?
Provide an example of how that value leads to living a good life.
What is the Golden Mean, and what is the Golden Mean of your value?
What is one value or virtue that you believe Aristotle should have included that was not discussed in Book IV? Answer the same questions for your value/virtue as you did above.
