Coltrane, S. (2019). Fathering: Paradoxes, contradictions, and dilemmas. In S. J. Ferguson (Ed.). Shifting center: Understanding contemporary families. Sage Publishing.

A Critical Reading Analysis is an analysis of the topic discussed in the article using critical thinking and reflection skills; it is based on a comprehensive reading of the assigned material. Students are required to demonstrate a thorough understanding of the author’s theoretical perspective presented in the article or chapter and its relevance to the course.

The CRA papers must be in APA style (7th Edition). Double-spaced, typed using Times New Roman font, with 1” margins, and a cover page. You must write an introductory statement (to give a roadmap of what you intend to cover in the paper). It should be well written (as you are now a graduate student – seek assistance from the student writing center as needed and do plan well in advance).
NOTE: The main critique that the professor had for the majority of the class 1st CRA was that she felt that our papers were more of a summary than a critical analysis. She has now provided an outline and a rubric for us to use to get the maximum points. I am attaching the chapter along with the outline and rubric.
