Engaging with each other is essential in an online course. You discussed collecting baseline data. Baseline data simply provide a picture of the client’s behavior prior to interventions. It allows you to measure the frequency, duration, intensity and/or latency of the target behavior. You will use these data to help guide treatment decisions. You can also apply this type of baseline measurement to your personal life. For example, if you want to decrease your weekly expenses, what type of baseline data would you collect to start modifying your spending habits?
For this conversation, identify ONE goal, habit, or behavior you would like to modify in your personal life. This could be related to health, career, finances, child rearing, et cetera.
Describe your goal and identify the baseline data you will have to gather to set behavior change goals. Develop a plan to collect the data you need.
Explain the types of things that should be considered when choosing a measurement system.

LEARNER #1—–One goal in my personal life that I would like to modify is improving my daily exercise routine.
Baseline data will be:
Frequency: How many days a week do I exercise?
Duration: How long do I spend in each exercise sessions
Types of exercise: What kind of exercise do I do? Cardio or weightlifting.
Motivation: How is my motivation when engaged in exercising from a scale of 1-10.
When analyzing this data, I would create a plan where I collect data every day when I do exercise. I would track my progress, the time spent during exercise, and also how I feel before and after doing exercise. Every week I will review my progress and make changes by comparing it against the baseline. When choosing a measurement system there are a lot of main factors to consider but in this case, I must consider flexibility and precision. Flexibility because I have to be able to adapt and increase my exercise routine and precision because I want to be realistic and obtain a precise tracking of my workout.
